Theoretical and Experimental Plant Physiology (TxPP): Factor de impacto ISI/JCR

On 06/14/2016 Theoretical and Experimental Plant Physiology Journal received its first impact factor (IF) ISI/JCR: 0.96. This is an achievement that started in January 2012 with the effort of Prof. Bressan-Smith, who assumed the role of editor-in-chief of the previous Brazilian Journal of Plant Physiology (BJPP). With the support of the board of directors of the Brazilian Society of Plant Physiology (BSPP) he started the professional management of the journal, including processing and printing articles by Zeppelini Publishing Co. At the same time, it became possible to access articles published in BJPP using IPad, IPhone and android systems. In that same year the new title (TxPP) was released as it had been approved by the plenary of the BSPP during the Plant Physiology Meeting held in Gramado-RS, Brazil (2007). Dr. Bressan also obtained the new ISSN and was able to index the journal in Scopus database. In 2013, TxPP became an on line Journal, like most respected journals throughout the world. In 2014, TxPP ceased the contract with Zeppelini and we became a journal edited by Springer. Because of that we were able to start using Editorial Manager software, which allows transparency to authors and makes easier for editors and reviewers to edit manuscripts. All issues of the Revista Brasileira de Fisiologia Vegetal (since 1989) and of BJPP (until 2013) were also made available and can be accessed at http://www.txppjournal.org/index. In addition, TxPP has been releasing especial issues since 2014. In 2016, the first especial issue on grapevine physiology was published and can be accessed at http://www.springer.com/life+sciences/journal/40626. Soon this year, the second especial issue on this subject (volume 28, issue 2) will be available. Our first IF is the result of the effort carried by Dr. Bressan-Smith and his team at North Fluminense State University (Campos dos Goytacazes, RJ). We still have many challenges to face, such as attraction of authors from Americas, Asia, Oceania and Europe because great part of the manuscripts submitted to TxPP are from Middle East and Africa. Therefore, we would like to appeal, especially to Argentinian scientists, to submit their best manuscripts to TxPP so that we can grow as important as other respected journals in plant science!

We wish you good luck with your research and we are waiting for your submission!.
Big hug,

Gustavo Habermann
Editor-in-Chief TXPP
